DIY: All-Natural Shoe Deodorizer Pods
I about died of excitement yesterday because I have FINALLY found something to kill shoe odor: Ground coffee and baking soda. I have tried so many things to get rid of the odor in one of my family members shoes. I’ve tried sprinkling baking soda and letting it stay for a few days before removing it, lots of essential oil remedies, putting stinky shoes in the freezer, shoe odor remover inserts from the store, scented shoe balls, etc..... NOTHING killed the odor like my mix and I didn’t have to buy a thing. Mix a few scoops of ground coffee and baking soda inside a coffee filter, close and twist the coffee filter closed and use a rubber band around the top. Drop one in each shoe and notice the massive difference very quickly! Put them back in the shoes after you wear them to keep the odor at bay. Your shoes will smell like coffee instead of stinky feet, but you can tell that the actual odor is gone, not masked. Now you might be worried that associating the smell of coffee with your shoes might be a turn-off, so you can also use dried coffee grounds instead (hence the non-coffee odor) but my child doesn’t mind the coffee scent in their shoes and honestly, I am too impatient to dry out my used grounds when the ground coffee worked so well!
